Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 27, 2026 · Last updated: October 27, 2026
CLC LLP operates this website to provide information about our U.S. tax, accounting and advisory services and to receive inquiries and client documents. This policy explains information handled through this website. An engagement letter and any separate professional privacy notice also apply to services we provide to clients.
1. Information we collect
- Contact inquiries: first and last name, email address, optional phone number, service interest and message.
- Client information: full name, email address, optional company and phone number, service interest, optional tax year and message. You can review and edit the information before confirming submission.
- Document uploads: name, email address, optional message, original file names, file sizes, file types, document contents and a submission reference. Documents may contain financial, tax or other sensitive information that you choose to provide. Only send information relevant to your request and information you are authorized to disclose. Do not send passwords or unnecessary identification or financial account numbers through a general inquiry.
- Technical information: the hosting server may log IP addresses, request times, requested pages, browser information and errors. Our forms use an IP-derived, keyed hash for short-term abuse prevention rather than storing the raw IP address in the customer request. Administrative records may include account and login activity.
Comments, where enabled: WordPress collects the comment, name, email and optional website you enter, together with an IP address and browser information for moderation and spam prevention. Approved comments and the display name may be public. If avatars are enabled, a hash derived from your email may be sent to Gravatar; see Automattic’s privacy notice. You may choose to save comment details in browser cookies for future comments. Do not post confidential client information in comments.
2. Why we use information
We use the information you provide to review and respond to requests, discuss services, receive and organize documents, prepare for an engagement and communicate with you. Technical information supports website operation, troubleshooting, security and prevention of spam or misuse. Submitting a form does not by itself establish a professional engagement. This website does not use your submissions for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Storage, access and disclosures
Form submissions are stored as private records in the website database. Uploaded client documents are stored outside the publicly served WordPress directory and are not placed in the public media library. Downloads require an authorized administrator account. The current site saves requests in the administration area and does not automatically email their contents.
Authorized CLC LLP personnel and service providers supporting hosting, maintenance, security or backups may process information as needed for those functions. We may disclose information when required by law or lawful process, to protect rights and security, or as you direct in connection with your engagement. We do not sell personal information or use this website to share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No advertising pixels or audience analytics service are configured in the current site.
4. Cookies, browser storage and language translation
WordPress uses cookies for administrator authentication and related functionality. The language tool uses browser storage to remember language preferences and cache translated public text. Necessary security tokens help validate form submissions. You can clear or block cookies and browser storage in your browser settings; doing so may reset preferences or affect sign-in and other functions.
The website offers English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese using an online translation service through translate.js in client.edge mode. Translating public page text can contact third-party translation infrastructure, which receives the text to translate and network information such as your IP address. Form input fields, entered values and the client information preview are excluded from the configured translation scope. Translation is not used to process uploaded document contents. Service providers may process data in countries other than your own. To avoid requesting a translated version, use English. Automatic translations may contain errors; contact us if a privacy explanation is unclear.
The current website does not use advertising tracking or change its behavior in response to a browser Do Not Track signal. We do not sell or share information for cross-context behavioral advertising regardless of a Global Privacy Control signal.
5. Retention and deletion
Inquiry records and documents are retained according to the purpose of the request, whether an engagement follows, applicable professional and legal recordkeeping requirements, and any dispute or security need. The current upload system has no automatic expiry: records and files remain until separately removed by an administrator. Moving a request to the WordPress trash does not delete its uploaded files. Contact us to request a review or deletion of information no longer needed. Backup copies may remain until the relevant backup is replaced or expires; information subject to a legal retention requirement may need to be retained.
6. Security and your choices
We use administrator access controls, private document storage, upload validation and form abuse controls. No internet transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security. Check that the address begins with HTTPS before sending confidential information. If a secure connection is unavailable, contact us to arrange another method.
You may choose not to submit optional information or use the forms, and may contact us by phone instead. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, use the contact details below and include your submission reference if available. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. Do not include sensitive documents with an initial privacy request.
7. California and other privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies to you and to our processing, you may have rights to know or access collected information, obtain a portable copy, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive information, and exercise rights without unlawful discrimination. An authorized agent may contact us on your behalf with proof of authority. Requests are subject to identity verification and applicable legal exceptions, including professional recordkeeping requirements. Contact us using the methods below; we will evaluate your request under applicable law. This notice does not assume that every statutory right applies to every processing activity.
8. Children and external services
This website is intended for adults seeking professional services and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it as appropriate. External links and any separately operated client portal or upload service have their own privacy practices. Review their notices before providing information.
9. Changes to this policy
We will publish changes on this page and revise the date above. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before making a material change in how previously collected information is used.
